Getting Alone with God

Elijah was instructed by the LORD to "hide" himself at the Brook Cherith (See 1 Kings 17:1). The word hide can also be translated as the "secret place.” While Elijah was in Cherith, he was in the precise location where he needed to be. All external influences that potentially could distract from intimacy with God had been removed. Unencumbered, Elijah could now pursue the presence of God resulting in him being empowered by the Spirit of God to move forward and prosper in the next season of his life and ministry.
